a time gone by

This blog is for things magical so I decided to make this post about a magical time. Was it that I was just young? No I don't think so. The time was that magical time of the 70's. What? The era that many people have debunked as a generation lost? well let me tell you the real story. Yes I was born in 1961 and technically I was a boomer kid. But a very interesting thing was going on around us back then. we watched the world change around us.

We have seen equal rights granted to most of the people in the united states, an African American became president when In my life time I remember segregation. We have seen men and women In space. I watched with my breath stilled as we waited to hear the words from the moon. Now My generation is preparing to go to mars. I watched protests and marches that demanded social change. I watched people riot to end the war in Viet Nam No matter what the outcome. we faced a plague that still kills millions each year. we changed the way the world communicates. The Boy In Africa can now be heard in new york. and the rest of the world is listening. Even today we are righting wrongs done to Native Americans and learning of the rich native culture.

Today we need direction. In those times we had a vision. a vision of a peaceful earth that respected each other. Now more than ever we need that goal. We did magic back then and didn't even know it.
